Quebec is advancing the Fintech ecosystem in Canada. It's Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) regulates and oversees Quebec's financial sector. AMF has been guiding emerging technology players as well as contributing and serving as a single point of contact for businesses to the Canadian Securities Administrators regulatory sandbox. It has launched numerous initiatives, inclusive of a Fintech lab and developing a partnership with IVADO to understand the implications of technological innovaation on FSI and investigate their application to Quebec's regulated entities and regulatory bodies. AMF's recent appoint Moad Fahmi, Director of Fintech and Innovation and Chair of the Technology Innovation Advisory Committee will co-orindate 6 projects across: Blockchain, mobile payments solutions and virtual currencies, fundraising platforms, automated insurance and investment tools, regtech, big data and connected devices.
